How Well Is Your Soul? I just finished reading an interesting piece over at the blog, Soul Thirst regarding the background of the hymn "It Is Well With My Soul" and a nice reflection on the song and its meaning to us today. Afterward, I had to write to Andy Chang and commented that, "Lovely thought...and song. A very poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of material wealth and the rapidity with with our physical lives will be lost. I have loved singing this song in the shower and did know the story behind already, but, as with Job's example, I pray that I am never faced with a trial in this manner. I see the song as a reminder to take a "God view" of our life on earth and our circumstances and also to remember Proverbs 23:7a "For as he thinks within himself, so he is." (NAS) " Thanks for the thought today Andy. May it be well with your soul! Dr. Larry
